Join with your colleagues across the state to share ideas, values and priorities in teaching science in the public schools or other sites.
We NEED you to join us to build a strong support for science education in our state. Please consider being part of Alaska Science Teachers Association. Our conference will provide opportunities specifically for members including a discount at registration and a membership breakfast on Saturday. NSTA, our national affiliate, now known as National Science Teaching Association, is a great resource for gaining proficiency at applying our new state standards. Although our state did not adopt NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) exactly as written, we did use the Framework for K-12 Science Education which guided NGSS. We adapted the standards to suit the needs of our students and teachers and we embrace the 3-Dimensional Teaching and Learning strategies for building science understanding and competencies needed for the twenty-first century.

You will get one free with membership. Scroll down to choose add-ons, including more journals and Alaska Science Teachers Association as options. Then complete your order. IF you are already a member of ASTA and decide to join through joint membership, your ASTA membership will be adjusted accordingly, giving you synchrony and a few free months of state membership.
